Trent Valley crematorium was commissioned by The Crematorium and Memorial Group in summer 2017 and completed in May 2018. Treske were tasked with helping to complete the interior fit-out which included the construction of main catafalque platform and lectern, and the supply of fully upholstered chapel seating and lectern/reader with integrated audio visual controls. Treske also fitted a bespoke waiting room with waiting room tables and chairs, crematorium reception furniture, and in a family room the design of tables and chairs and the fitting of bespoke room display cabinet lit with led lighting.
The design brief from The Crematorium and Memorial Group and their architects Howl Associates was to reflect the design of the wall structure into the furniture items. Treske designers working with Howl Associates created a repeating pattern of different oak slat thicknesses that carried accross all the furniture from catafalque to lectern, to create a distinctive unique design look to the crematoria furniture. Two pedestal flower stands follow this design framing the full height window overlooking the reflective pool.
Also included in the brief was a completely circular committal curtain which operates on a 10 metre track fitted to a steel halo. The steel halo was installed by the main contractor and then Treske undertook the installation of the track, motors, controllers and curtains. Treske worked very closely with the architect and client to ensure the final scheme was exactly as required and with the main contractor to make sure that all areas were completed on time and to plan.
Chapel and Crematoria Benches, table top lectern, altar, bench frontals and book holders for McLaren's Airdrie Funeral Parlour.
Treske supplied a new lectern with integrated controls and AV features, redesigned the catafalque base and developed a striking design style for the crematoria furniture. The oak benches with upholstered seats and frontals used the same design as the catafalque and reader.
Treske were commissioned to design and make bespoke crematoria furniture for the two chapels. Catafalques, adjustable height lecterns, sofa seating, upholstered seats and committal curtains were part of the commission.
