Donald McLaren family funeral directors commissioned Treske to make beech benches in the style and colour to match to older existing benches for use in the new build Airdrie Funeral Parlour chapel.
Treske designed and made frontals for the front row of benches in the same modern contemporary style. The funeral parlour chapel furniture brief also included an altar and table top lectern, made in beech to match the style of the benches. The altar was design has a central panel of leaded glass using a MacIntosh motif design which is back lit to show from accross the chapel. The design includes uplifting beech timbers under the surface of the altar matching the woodlam roof support structure.
Treske supplied a new lectern with integrated controls and AV features, redesigned the catafalque base and developed a striking design style for the crematoria furniture. The oak benches with upholstered seats and frontals used the same design as the catafalque and reader.
Treske worked with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to create a scheme for their refurbished Robin Hood Crematorium including bench seating, tracks, curtain controls and curtains.
The new furniture consisted of a bespoke catafalque, console table, ambo-style lectern incorporating audio visual controls, and the main committal curtains and voile.
