The Royal Chapel of All Saints serves as an informal parish church for the residents and staff of the Windsor Great Park, including many members of the Royal Family.
The commission, under the supervision of Martin Ashley Architects, was a highly successful collaboration that fully showed the skills of Holy Well Glass in the creation of glass internal doors for the South Porch. Treske made the internal oak porch in English oak, a deceptively simple design that had to be made exactly to size to fit the bespoke hinges and glass doors. To install the porch and doors, Treske altered the rear benches, the slope of the floor and shape of the bench platform.
Holy Well Glass used the theme of Her Majesty’s favourite hymn, the calligraphy sandblasted, with floral motifs applied to the cast glass, and with the royal cyphers of the Queen and His Royal Highness Prince Philip set at the base of the doors. Custom made brass door furniture was made by Elphis Engineering and checked with Treske through the sharing of cad drawings to show both architects and clergy planned methodology and visuals. Treske worked with Holy Well Glass on site with the installation of the doors, templating and cutting the hinges into the frame to fit exactly.
Her Majesty The Queen graced the dedication service and ceremony which took place outside the newly installed doors. A very special and memorable occasion, to which the craftsmen involved were invited and privileged to meet the Queen.
