Known as the Cathedral of Essex the Church of St John the Baptist with Our Lady and St Laurence is one of the most beautiful churches in England and sits within one of the most picturesque of towns with its timber framed houses and ancient streets.
Treske, as part of a nave seating reorder, made 98 rush seat St Wilfrid chairs and 14 St Wilfrid armchairs as well as 50 St Nicholas folding chairs - also with rush seats. All the chairs were made in oak with some of the seating having book boxes on the back of the top back rest as well as a shelf for kneelers under the seat.
Nearly 300 bespoke oak chairs made by Treske have replaced the old pews in the nave of Ripon Cathedral, and are now also being used in the choir.
Treske designed movable choir stalls with rush seat benches for St Kyneburgha's church. The ends of the choir stall are carved with medieval musical instruments taken from those held by the Nave roof angels.
Treske of Thirsk were selected to provide new oak seating to replace the old pine pews, using a mixture of rush seated oak chairs, folding chairs and benches.
